About
Terrestrial
ecosystems include all plants, animals and
invertebrates -- both native and nonnative -- that exist above the high tide
line in islands of the Pacific.
Terrestrial systems are found on both high (of volcanic origin) and low
(formed by coral) islands. They include
human interactions and uses of living resources that affect species or
ecosystem processes, for example the introduction (intentional or unintentional)
of nonnative species.
