Freshwater ecosystems
include streams, rivers and bogs on all Pacific islands as well as groundwater
and groundwater-influenced ecosystems.
These systems include human interactions and uses of living resources
that affect species or ecosystem processes, such as the use of freshwater for
drinking, agriculture and other purposes.
